Official says Russian govt plans to extend tax free system

MOSCOW, Feb 18 (PRIME) -- The Russian government is discussing various options to extend the tax free system, Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Sazanov told reporters on Tuesday.

“We are discussing the list of places where the experiment will be held. We are weighing possible financial outcomes of extension of the experiment,” Sazanov said.

“There are various possibilities. We may just remove the status of an experiment and any venue, which wants it, can apply to become tax free. Or it may be a restricted list of locations. The government will decide depending on the financial outcome of these measures. But extension will take place in some form.”

Russia launched tax free retail locations on January 1, 2018.
